September 28th, 2017: A day so ingrained in my memory. My final summit day.

This time one year ago, I was eating my final breakfast on trail and hugging my family before climbing Mt. Katahdin in Maine. My final summit and the cap to the previous 6 month’s adventure.  My family drove over 15 hours the day before just to experience the victorious end to my journey and join me on the hike up Katahdin.

Today, one year later, I sit with my family in Nashville (miss you bro!), eating breakfast together and replaying that day over and over in my head. The past year has been one of reflection and growth. There is a direct correlation between my mind, body and soul. More so than ever before. I am in tune.

I often miss the simplicity of those days on trail, but I know every step of last year’s journey molded me into a stronger, healthier, happier, and better person. I’m forever changed by the Appalachian Trail.

To my wonderful family, friends, colleagues, and beloved trail fam: last year could not have happened without you! I love you all!

I can’t believe it’s already been a year.
